format a hard drive in windows xp
To format a hard drive or partition a hard drive with windows xp .
sometimes it is a nuisance or hard to get fdisk going with windows xp .
but there is a way to format a hard disk or partition using windows gui programs..
here is how you do it.
Right click up My Computer and select manage.
This will open up Computer management window . click on the the disk that is to be formatted or partitioned . then right click and select partition and follow the instructions and then click finish when you have selected the partition size and drive letter.
This is a handy way to use windows rather than the old dos method.. which can be a pain in windows xp..
