flash animation to video

This video was created in flash and was dumped out into adobe premiere where the audio track was added to it. It is sorta going back to front because in animation it is a good idea to create the audio or vocal track first and then create a timeline where all the times that each character has spoken are written down and you make the animation conform to the vocal track. In high end professional animations they match the mouth positions of the character to the vowels and consonants. So for example if you have an “oo” sound the corresponding mouth position is slightly open and pushed forward. Do it now in the mirror and see what it looks like when you say “oo”.

Animators do a lot of looking in the mirror. Not for vanity but for seeing what body positions and mouth positions look like so they can draw them. I am a bit rough as guts and when someone is speaking i just open and close the mouth randomly. I quite like rough and raw animation. My favourite is stuff like South Park which simulates a very simple cut-out style of animation. It is actually done with very sophisticated software.

I am not too sure if flash is the best for doing animated storyline stuff for video. Probably because flash doesnt handle audio all that well. hmm i suppose you could do it.. anyway, try it out for yourself is the only way to learn . make mistakes and learn from it.. then do it again better the next time..
